In 1989 Ammann entered into a joint venture with Yanmar to produce mini excavators from a factory in Saint-Dizier France. Ammann - Yanmar has become one of the 3 European leaders in the mini-excavator market through its daring commercial and industrial policy. Today the Saint-Dizier plant designs and produces 18 models of conventional mini-excavators or Zero Tail Swing excavators (ViO). The rest of the ranges, including 3 carriers are supplied by Yanmar directly from Japan.
